Final Print products
Here is the final DigiPak design. As you can see we decided to do the same style and effects as the real Chase and Status DigiPaks. Such as the same styled font (as close as we could get to the real font) the grungy styled background because this was a prominent style in the original Chase and Status CD designs and DigiPaks.
We added the colour Green and black because it is a toxic green, showing that his life is also toxic after work. It is also a good colour combination for a grungy styled effect which is a prominent style associated with Chase and Status and the genre they work in.
We have included everything that you would normally find on a real DigiPak such as age rating, bar code and screenshots of what is on the CD.
This is the inside of the DigiPak which includes the actual CD. If we were given extra time as a group we would produce a booklet to go on the inside of the DigiPak as well. The colour scheme and grungy style continues on the inside. The hand print on the CD and cover is a grungy texture we used and shaped like a hand, this symbolizes authority and power which is portrayed in our music video through the actions of our main character

Magazine Advert
This is our final magazine advert. It follows the same theme as the DigiPak with the grungy texture and Block lettering. It contains all the usual information you would find on a magazine adver, advertising a DigiPak. We have made the advert looks ‘powerful to the eye’ meaning it has a big impact on the audience.
The advert contains the name of the band, the name of the song, the RRP, release date and where to purchase the DigiPak.
The main focal point on the advert is the information telling us the DigiPak is now out. This has been achieved by making it Lime green, block lettering and large font size. This therefore makes it jump out to the audience, drawing their attention.
There are really only two colours used in the advert, Black and green. The colours used are dark and bright meaning they contrast, this helps make it eye catching by making certain parts jump out at you. It helps describe the mood of the event, which reflect toxic and rebellion.

CD
Here is our final CD design that will go inside our DigiPak. As you can see it follows the same style and effect as the magazine advert and the Digipak cover. On the CD is the name of the band and our chosen song ‘Let You Go’ but also which I feel works really well, we have included the grungy texture of the hand again. This means all our print products have the same style and effect and therefore makes them look very smooth and professional.

Digi-Pak First Design

This is our first idea for the background on our Digi-Pack. The black and yellow work together well to create a striking background that fits in well
with our bands colour scheme. The bars at the bottom look worn out and old, and this gives a street look to it, which fits into Chase and Status’s genre.
We have added a grungy texture onto the yellow bars which fits in with the bands previous CD covers and Digi-Paks
Digi-Pak Draft 1

This is the original design for our Digi-Pack. We added the song title in big bold text to make it stand out and grab people’s attention. The white and black are contrasting colours and so this works well with our video, which is showing a General Practitioner getting to all sorts of trouble like drinking and drug taking. The colours make the difference between light and dark clear. The white represents goodness, while the dark represents evil, which show the two sides to our characters personality.
Digi-Pack 3nd design

Here is an image of Nick during filming. This is a part of the night scene filmed in Market Drayton at 3am! We are thinking about including this image on the back of our Digi-Pack. We like the lighting and feel that it would look good on the back.

Here is our 2nd Digi-Pack design. It is not yet finished but it is a good template for the final copy. We have kept the same big, bold white writing from before to make it stand out. The image of our character on the back is
included because, the lighting works well especially with the green. We added the colour because it is a toxic green, showing that his life is also toxic after work. It is also a grungy colour which is a genre associated with Chase and Status

Planning - Location Report
Location Report

Here is a bedroom in my house that we decided would work the best to film the opening scene of the doctor waking up in bed. We believed this shot was appropriate because as a group we felt it looked like a wealthy person’s bedroom but also because the lighting was good to film in.

Here is the Bathroom from the same house. As a group we feel this was the best place to shot a bathroom scene as it was only a month old therefore it looked modern, posh and a wealthy bathroom. This helped reflect the impression of this doctor having a wealthy lifestyle. We also liked this location as the lighting was very good making the film look more smooth and clear.
This is the kitchen from the same house again. We feel this kitchen is appropriate because we are staying in the same location but this kitchen is again modern and does give the audience an impression of a wealthy big house. We feel the lighting is also good in this room and therefore will help make the film look more smooth and clear.

Here is our town’s local medical centre where we filmed the doctor walking in and out from work. We did have to ask for permission to film outside, and they thankfully said it would not be a problem. As a group we think it was appropriate to film here as it tells the audience that this man works at a medical centre and therefore is in a high paid job that helps others.

This office is our head of college’s office. To film in her office we did need to ask for permission but she thankfully said it would not be a problem. To make this room look more like it belongs in a health centre we decided as a group to borrow health poster from the P.E and P.S.H.E departments but also a skeleton model from the biology department. Agian we did ask for permission to use these items but it was not a problem and they let us use them. We feel this location was appropriate because it was an easily accessible place to film, the lighting was good because of the tall windows but because in the end it did look like a office which belongs in a medical centre.

Here is another room from my house the conservatory. Here we filmed the DJ lighting and the DJ equipment to represent a nightclub. We decided to use this location because it gets very dark easily but because this is where I keep my DJ equipment already. This means there was less hassle of moving items around. As a group we decided to also use the floodlights to help highlight out any parts we wanted to film that was too dark for the natural light. This is shown in the picture

Here is a local park in our town which we decided to show the doctor portraying his childish side (completely opposite to what the audience would think is his normal behaviour) As a group we feel this was an appropriate location to film was because it is a quite park meaning no hassle from the public but also because it was a very local park from the house we previously filmed in

This location is a local industrial estate where we decided to film the CCTV style shots, the drug deal and the running over scene. This was an appropriate location to film because these types of places are where you normally think of drug deals to take place. It was also a good place to film because we made very good use of the flood lights down the industrial estate to highlight the drug deal taking place. We decided to film the running over scene here as well because after 6 it is quite and therefore safe to film this scene.

The final location we filmed at was the town centre of our local town called ‘Market Drayton’ we filmed around the town to show the main character stumbling through the streets. To film when we wouldn’t be filming the public or have any hassle from the public we had to go out filming between 1am – 3am. We feel this was an appropriate location to film was because it is where you would normally see drunken people staggering through the streets but also because there is plenty of light for us to film in and it was our local town so easy to go film in.

Planning - What certificate should our Music Video be?
What certificate should the film?
After analysing the planning information we have obtained, I feel for my coursework, research and music video, I will focus within the boundaries of an age 15 certificate and below. This therefore means for our music video I am allowed to explore within the boundaries of the following:
• Theme: My theme is based around the genre rebellion
• Language: There may be frequent use of strong language; in our music video there will be no sound from the characters just the music over the top. However we may use certain hand gestures
• Nudity: There are no constraints on nudity in a non-sexual or educational context.
• Sex: There will be no sex or nudity in our music video as it would not be appropriate and not suit the theme and style of our music video
• Violence: There may be a small amount of violence in our music video; but it will be small and very calm violence.
• Imitable techniques: I feel in our music video we would not go to the extreme over violence e.g. using blows to the neck or head butts because this is not acceptable in this age certificate
• Horror: Sustained or detailed infliction of pain or injury is unacceptable. Therefore we would not use this in our music video.
• Drugs: Drug taking may be shown but clear instructive detail is unacceptable. The music video as a whole must not promote or encourage drug use. There may be a small amount of drug use or dealing in our music video.
