Planning - Storyboard evaluation

Planning - Storyboard evaluation

Estimated Time of Music Video: 3 minutes 10 seconds

Estimated Time to Film: 6 - 7 hours

Equipment needed:

Camera

Tripod

Tape

Strobe light

Flood light

What needs to be done ready for filming?
To be able to film with a strobe light we need to ask for permission from the physics department in our college. We must also make sure that none of our group members suffer from epilepsy. We also need to get permission from our head of college to borrow her office so we can film the scene of the doctor at work.

We will also need to ask permission to film out side our local doctors but I have already confirmed with them that this will be okay.

As a group we are going to try and get permission to film in a local nightclub for a couple of establishing shots. However if we can not gain permission for this we will use the strobe light given to us from the physics department.

After Filming

What changed from the storyboard?

We realised when we began filming that the setting for the night club was not possible, so we had to use our back up of the strobe light from the physics department. I feel this worked just as well as the real thing because we were able to use the strobe light to highlight the main characters facial expressions. Meaning more emotions was present in our music video.

Was it difficult?

I found it relatively okay to do the filming because our group knew before we started what we needed to do. But I felt the time taken to film was very long and we ended up filming a total of 93mins worth of filming.

The majority of the town filming was at 3am so we had no hassle from the public.
