Planning - Chase & Status website analysis

Chase and status website Analysis

www.myspace.com/chaseandstatus

Background

The colour scheme at the back of the page is green, white and black. At the top of the page is the Chase and Status logo in these three colours and underneath the logo is a music video of one of the artist’s songs. To stop the background interfering with the text all the writing is written in green on a black rectangle text box. This is very effective as it catches the audience’s attention, and draws them in.

Text

The text font is Times New Roman of a reasonable clear size (12 pt) so it is very easy to read. But headers are in Arial with a clear size of about 14 pt. The text seems to be bunched on the left hand size but this is only due to the fact it is the MySpace layout format. However there is a clear understanding between each section, for example there a certain sections for upcoming gigs and merchandise. This makes the page look professional and gives each section of text a clear content zone on the page. The text is in traditional caps and lower case.

Links

The links on the page are all in the colour white which contrasts the green text and black text box. The images on the screen are all original and are not linked to other sites. However the videos are all from YouTube and there is one advert for Google search’s. The links are very clear so there is no confusion and all links are relevant to the band.

Graphics

All the images load fairly quickly, however the videos take a while longer as they are sourced from YouTube (a video hosting site). All the graphics are effective and are related to Chase and status.

Animations

There is no animation on the site either.

navigation

The navigation is clear and all the links to access other pages of the site are in a navigation bar at the top of the page for easy access.
